Conservation That Lasts

LAND · COMMUNITY · RECREATION

ABOUT US

The Carbon Conservation Trust is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2017 by North Carolinians who believe conservation works best when it serves both the land and the people connected to it. We hold and monitor conservation easements, and we help landowners and stakeholders plan their natural resource management for beneficiaries and future generations.

Our team of conservation easement advisors includes conservation practitioners, land trust board members, CPAs, and legal counsel. Our board brings more than 40 years of combined experience supporting the placement of hundreds of thousands of acres in conservation easements. Through our extensive network in the landowner community, we lower monitoring and easement development costs while keeping each landowner’s long-term goals at the forefront.

Protecting land permanently is only part of our work. By conserving natural resources, we help keep places available for outdoor recreation, create opportunities for education, and support communities that are inclusive and connected to the landscapes they cherish.

MISSION

The Carbon Conservation Trust seeks to promote community development and inclusion for all members through recreation, education, and conservation. Using innovative techniques, The Carbon Conservation Trust provides opportunities to meet community needs, be inclusive, and conserve the resources they cherish.

VISION

A sustainable natural environment, managed in an effective manner for positive conservation outcomes and recreation.
